The commitment of each grower is recognised with their signature on the label. Our tightly held VSV - Very Special Vineyard - wines are only made in exceptional years when a single site delivers the ultimate harmony of varietal and region.

The quality of Peter Lehmann Wines are a testament to our relationships, allowing us access to the region’s finest grapes. Over the past decade, a selection of prized vineyards have consistently produced fruit of exceptional quality and character. Fruit from these vineyards is set aside for winemaking in small batches to create a series of wonderful single vineyard wines. Our VSV - Very Special Vineyard - wines are only made in exceptional years when a single site delivers the ultimate combination of varietal and region culminating in a VSV wine. The hands responsible for crafting these prestigous wines are celebrated with the grower and winemaker signature presented on the label.
Production Notes
After reasonable winter and spring rainfall, soil moisture was adequate during the growing season and Barossa’s vineyards exhibited healthy canopies heading into summer. January and February were warm and dry, with very warm temperatures in February slowing down the pace of ripening. Vintage really ramped up in March, with the majority of Barossa’s Shiraz being picked during this period.
Winemaker Notes
A bright crimson hue and purple colours in the glass, with lifted blackberry, dark chocolate and spice in the bouquet. The palate is richly flavoured and shows a firm tension of tannin on the finish. Can be cellared until 2038.
The wine was fermented on skins for 16 days in one of the original potters with manual pumpovers, to maximise colour and flavour. The wine was then aged in 40% new French oak and 1 - 4 year old French oak for 15 months.
